CARE Denmark's 2026-2030 Strategy
Green and resilient futures beyond aid
We work with the world’s most climate vulnerable people. Therefore, our vision is for a future beyond aid, in which frontline communities can lead climate action. We drive for lasting impact through market-based solutions, innovation and partnerships – in a time of uncertainty in the aid landscape.
Four programmatic pillars
Under our new strategy, all projects going forward are categorised into our programmatic pillars.
We strive for a future where communities, governments, and businesses co-create financially viable climate solutions — transforming displacement into opportunity, supporting safe and informed mobility, and ensuring emergency responses are sustainable and locally led.
Intervention strategies
Our vision for a green future beyond aid will be driven by a multitude of strategies. These include; evidence and learning from projects; scaling proven solutions; supporting locally-led and women-led climate action; connecting key actors, and expanding access to finance and innovative instruments.
The majority of our projects will be mostly or partially led by partners with direct funding transfer. Through private investments, we will develop scalable and sustainable climate solutions.
Six key targets
By the end of 2030, we will have contributed to tangible and lasting results,
related to people, partners, and solutions.
Impact & reach
We love to measure our results. Learn more about the sectors we focus on, the people we reach, and the amount of Co2 we can save together. By supporting specific types of projects, we can ensure 10 times the standard impact or a financial return on investment.
