CARE works to ensure poor people’s right to food. Improved agricultural techniques increase the general level of food security in those communities where CARE implements its projects. But sometimes this is not enough. Especially in those areas devastated by frequent droughts and floods, political changes are essential to ensure poor people’s right to food.
In some places, CARE works to enhance the impact of local early warning system initiatives that prepare community members, authorities, and donors for curbing impending disasters. CARE is dedicated to promoting the incorporation of these early warning systems and the timely interventions they allow for into national as well as regional strategies.
